About

‘Moody’ is artist Michelle Deignan’s most recent curatorial project. Configuring interpretations of deflection, friction and resistence, notions integral to Michelle’s own work, ‘Moody’ takes the form of nomadic exhibitions, and events.

Since 2002 Michelle has curated exhibitions, screenings and instigated artists’ events and projects, beginning with the co-curation with SImon Goodwin of the online artist residency program ‘variablemedia’ where she worked with artists such as Dennis McNulty (IR), Simon Yuill/Slateford (UK), John Paul Bichard (UK/SE) laurie halsey brown (US) and Richard Couzins (UK).

Between 2006 and 2009 Deignan curated three exhibitions at Five Years artist run project space in London. These were: ‘Noble Intent’, a screening programme of artists' moving image works with works by Ming Wong (SG/DE), Paul Rooney (UK), Rachel Reupke (UK), Cormac Browne (IR), Uriel Orlow (CH/UK), Naoko Takahashi (JP/UK), David Ferrando Giraut (ES/UK), Myriam Thyes (DE) and Anita Di Bianco(US/DE); 'Does God Live In The No Fly Zone' .featuring collaborative work by SE Barnet(US/UK) and The Kit Collaboration(UK/US); 'Present State' with artist Jasmina Cibic (SI/UK) and photographer Pete Moss (UK).
